Imagine taking your child’s piggy bank to the next level! Alior Bank is doing just that via the launch of banking services for children under 13. And this container could hold more than just a few coins!

It will now be possible for the young customers of Alior in Poland to open a bank account on the Internet, obtain a payment card, manage their account, exchange money or receive pocket money using no more than a smartphone. This offer called “HAIZ” stands out insofar as the majority of banks cater only for those over 13 years of age.

This service which will be officially launched in September 2016 aims at sensitizing the younger ones on finances, teaching them to manage their money, as highlighted by Wojciech Sobieraj, CEO of Alior Bank, adding that regular updates will be sent to parents where all transactions carried out by their children will be detailed, including the nature of the purchases made.

The Bank announced this new range of products dedicated to a young public at the end of a press conference following the publication of its financial results for the second quarter of the year.

Already rewarded in 2015 with the title “Best European retail bank” award by Retail Banker International, Alior Bank has since signed partnerships with Apple and IBM to expand its range of digital services, from the classic Smartphone application to the possibility to pay bills or movie tickets via the mobile phone’s camera.

Founded in 2008 by Romain Zaleski, Alior Bank is now the 10th Polish bank in terms of capitalization, with over 3 million customers, 814 branches and an annual net profit of PLN 363 million (over 83 million Euros) in 2015.
