Elena Faita arrived in Quebec with her family in 1954 at the age of 7 years. Shortly after their arrival, her father and her brothers founded the Dante hardware, the then first Italian hardware store in Montreal. Young Elena could see her family’s investment in this project, and that’s how she discovered two basic values of entrepreneurship: rigor and passion. Then in turn, the children of Elena, inspired by their mother, came to help and get to the shop. The arrival of her daughter Christina encouraged the birth of cooking school, Mezza Luna.
